Music
The Shirtdudes obviously have some common interests - music is one of them. We are posting some videos of artists we like to listen to. We tend to move towards the more acoustic and laid back stuff as we get older. Most of the videos below are songs Mike likes, because Joe and Brian wont send me links.
But first, a listing, in no particular order, of artists we like to listen to
- Jimmy Buffett
- Israel Kamakawiwo'ole - Wonderful World cover is awesome
- Robert Earl Keen
- Boat Drunks
- Jackson Browne
- Rolling Stones
- R.E.M.
- Neil Young
- Bob Dylan
- Steve Earl
- Townes Van Zandt
- The Black Keys-Mike likes these guys
- Jeff Buckley - 1 song, but man is it good
- Johhny Cash - Who doesn't like The Man in Black?
- and lots more, we just have had too many beers at this time to remember...
Enjoy
Jimmy Buffett
Of course we like Jimmy Buffett. We couldn't keep up the tropical theme if we didn't. He's had many good songs over the years, but this song has a special place in our hearts.
Townes Van Zandt
I had heard this name before, but had confused him with the guys from Lynnard Skynnard. Townes was the guy who wrote 'Pancho and Lefty", a big Willie Nelson/Waylon Jennings hit. I highly recommend this guy. The lyrics he wrote are very good and his solo delivery is haunting. Sadly he died in 1997(?) - years of alcohol abuse.
